PRODUCT DETAILS
The Fuel Oil Anti-Siphoning Tool™ is designed with precise components to ensure effective prevention of fuel theft while maintaining the flow of fuel. At its core is a 2½″×2″ female×female reduced coupling made from malleable iron or lead-free copper, materials chosen for their strength. Inside this coupling sits a heavy-duty stainless-steel screen, perforated with multiple holes sized to allow fuel passage but prevent the insertion of siphoning devices. This screen is securely held in place by a torsional spring, which applies consistent pressure to keep the screen firmly positioned without obstructing flow.
Over the screen, a male×female hex bushing with a hexagonal head is threaded inside the reduced coupling. This hex bushing not only helps secure the screen and spring assembly but also provides a tamper-resistant feature, making unauthorized disassembly more difficult. The hexagonal head allows for easy installation or removal with a standard wrench, facilitating quick retrofit into existing fuel supply lines. Additionally, a flush bushing fastener (BU FLSH ½″×¼″ FTG×COP) is used to hold the spring in place and can also reduce the screen’s narrow end opening to further block siphoning tools.

Mr. John Lancaster’s journey into innovation began a few years ago when a church deacon approached him with a pressing problem: Fuel oil was being stolen directly from the church’s supply tank. Motivated to find a solution, John started researching and searching through various hardware stores for a durable screen that could be installed in the fuel tank’s supply pipe to prevent theft. When he found that no available materials were strong enough to withstand tampering, his determination only grew stronger.
His breakthrough came during a visit to F.W. Webb Co., a wholesale supplier specializing in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning products. It was there that John discovered the components necessary to design a robust, tamper-resistant screen that could effectively stop fuel siphoning.
John’s practical problem-solving approach and commitment to protecting community resources led him to develop a groundbreaking fuel oil anti-siphoning tool, providing a simple yet effective solution to a widespread issue. His invention reflects his hands-on experience and dedication to safeguarding valuable fuel assets.
